This case report describes an instance of severe inflammatory response presenting with covid, which was managed successfully with steroids. This seems similar to "toxic shock" syndrome, usually characterised as a rare but severe inflammatory reaction to bacteria or bacterial excretae, also sometimes well-treated with steroids.
