CD4 T Cell Affinity Diversity Is Equally Maintained during Acute and Chronic Infection (2018)

Does CD4+ affinity towards an antigen is a correlate of protection against infection?
Take-home message In this article, Andargachew et al. postulate that it is not that simple of a question by showing that affinity diversity is maintained during both acute and chronic LCMV mouse infection. Author's suggest that additional study on the kinetics of TCR-pMCH might be able to shed light on this debate.
Importance Address a fundamental question regarding the affinity/avidity of CD4+ T cell during acute and chronic infection
